Filming in the shop outside of opening
hours went well, everything went according to plan and the lack of Georgia
shots to film gave us a small amount of time to experiment with different
shots. I worked just as closely with the actors and crew as I did on the other
days and over all I am very satisfied with how everything went.

Filming day 1
The first day of filming went well for the
most part. I met my crew at the park and helped set up equipment and plan
rehearsed the shots with robin. Once Courtney (the actor playing Nathan) phoned
to tell me of his arrival, I drove in my Car to pick him and his chaperone up
from the train station, They followed me in their car back to the park. I
introduced Courtney and his chaperone to the crew and asked Courtney to use the
parks football changing room to get changed in to his uniform costume. While
Courtney was the only one on set, we filmed his few solo shots and got reaction
shots from him. Eventually David (the actor playing Pete Walsh.) phoned to say
he was at the train station, I drove to the station and picked up David. We
then used had David get in to costume and filmed the Courtney and David shots.
When Nicole (the actress portraying Georgia.) arrived on set we also shot her
scenes.
Due to Nicole’s lack of clothing in the
park scenes and her house scenes, I made sure that as soon as the camera was
off or she was off screen that she was wrapped in a warm coat (the weather was
extremely cold that day.)
Nicole informed us that due to a family
emergency she would not be available to film on the next day. This forced us to
ask the shop to allow us to film during opening hours that day. Fortunately
they agreed, we filmed in all of Nicole’s shop scenes in close ups or with only
Courtney also in shot. We then went on to film the scenes that take place
outside Georgia’s house.
In the end I am impressed that we able to
film as much as we did. (far more than we expected to.)

Filming Hallway Scenes
We have filmed the hallway scenes. Filming
went well, though only 4 unique shots were filmed, the day was very busy as we
were required to drive to interior locations all over Sheffield so each house
looked different, we then set up each shot with numerous props and worked on
making the actual shot look as pretty as possible as the time was not a major
concern that day. I feel the shooting went well and I am excited to continue
filming with a full crew.

New shop and new location scout
I was able to get permission to film at the
local shop in Bamford. Due to the importance of having all of the cast at this
location, I have decided to have a new location scout to see if filming in the
village of bamford would be a better choice. While the crew lives in Sheffield
and the cast live further away, I live in Bamford and would be able to store
equipment in my house making transport of production easier. Furthermore, There
are multiple complex scenes to film, and by having all the locations for the
film within the same area it allows an easier time for any reshoots that might
be needed or if a location filming time/day has to be changed it is much easier
to do if all locations are close by.
Once permission for the shop had been
gained I organized with my crew a new location scout to bamford to make sure my
plan of filming all locations within Bamford would work.
The park scene would be filmed at Bamford
recreation park, though the actual playground would not be in focus where we
plan to shoot in the park, the use of benches and green fields makes the
location perfect for the scene.
The village itself will be perfect for many
shots of the paper round montage as the village has a bright and old timey feel
to it without seeming worn down.
The indoor montage sequence will be filmed
in a block of flats across from my house. The scene requires a lot of movement
on behalf of the camera and the actor so a wide hallway, which can be filmed
in, makes the block of flats ideal. I have already gotten permission to film in
them from the flat’s warden.
Georgia’s house will be filmed outside my
house.
The bus stop scene will be filmed in on a
quite side road, the location is barely used but still looks to be a part of the
community and is therefore very useful for filming.
